GPS System and Driving
Finding Your Way on the Road

Perhaps in the long run we will look at the GPS System as the transformative force that changed the way that we drive cars. If you live in a developed country you can literally go all over the place by just punching a few postcodes within your car system. If you are unable to do this you might even just call up the control center and they will let your car travel with to your destination without having to read the map.
Civil rights campaigners may be concerned about the fact that with the GPS System there is literally nowhere to hide. If the government is looking for and you are in a vehicle that has a GPS System, it will take them just a matter of seconds to get to you. Moreover if they want to monitor your movements they can easily achieve this by using the GPS System. This has led some to question the growth of the big brother society
The fact that the GPS System gives the authorities some control over the driver movements in certain jurisdictions does not detract from the usefulness of the gadget. Long gone are the crude jokes about people not being able to red maps. With the GPS System you never need to look at any map again.
Making Use of the Gadget

The GPS System is only as good as you make use of it. If for instance you fail to concentrate on your driving and let your fascination of the GPS System to take over then you will have an accident and there will be nobody to blame but yourself. The system can help you to concentrate on driving because the instructor reads directions for you and you only have to follow them.
People who run large delivery companies can use the GPS System to check that their employees are following the routes that have been agreed as part of their work plan. The system can also help the driver who is new to a certain location by ensuring that they do not get lost. This is so important if you are involved in delivering parcels to many different places that may not be familiar to you.
With the GPS System parking can be arranged in such a way that you do not have traffic jams. Even the local radio station can work out busy roads and warn drivers away from them. There are devices that give you up to date information on the progress of traffic jams and accidents. This has made driving so much easier and enjoyable to the average person.
This is not to say that the GPS System is not infallible. Far from it, the GPS System is capable of some of the most outrageous shenanigans ever seen in the driving history of our nations. For example people have been directed to one way streets or ditches. I am of the view that this happens because the people are either not paying attention or they are too reliant on the technology.
